Description

Z Counterform Concrete Countertop Mix is a pre-blended, all in one, high strength castable, white concrete mix designed for the creation of concrete countertops and much more. It offers the very best blend of white sand and marble aggregates, white Portland cement and proprietary admixtures to help minimize curling, shrinking or deformation. The use of a specialized acrylic fiber network and the high flexural strength greatly limits the chance of cracking (no Liqui-Crete needed). This highly flowable, near self-leveling mix makes Z Counterform Countertop Mix the perfect choice for both your precast and cast-in-place designs and can be cast as thin as 1" for countertop applications. Highly recommended to use the Lexan Float and Chrome Finishing Trowel when using this product in order to prevent any burn or transfer of color from the tools to the White Concrete.

Reinforcement -
Additional fibers do not need to be added to this mix but a reinforcement grid such as our FG50 mesh should still be used for most countertop or slab projects.

Pre-Casting - If using this mix to cast upside down in a mold, it is highly recommend to wet cure or to keep covered with plastic for 48-72 hours in order to reduce the chance of curling. This happens when the top surface that is open to air cures at a faster rate than the concrete inside the mold.

This video shows proper the proper mixing technique to achieve a pourable consistency concrete mix. Less water may be used if a dryer, packable mix is desired. For proper finishing instructions, please see our video "How to Mix, Pour and Finish Z Liqui-Crete". The finishing process will be the same for both mixes.

Use a Bright White Color-Pack to whiten the mix even more. One Color-Pack per 47lb. bag will give you an even whiter appearance.

Note: The finish of the concrete will affect the final color. This color chart is meant to only serve as an example of what to expect. Also, computer monitor brightness and temperature may effect the color you are seeing. Always make a sample piece first to verify color.

Great products!

"I can not say enough positive things about how great these products are coming from a concrete small business owner."

Jennifer H. (5/5)

Best in industry

"I have used concrete countertop solutions for several countertops. Their products are second to none. I just did white countertops for a home we built for ourselves and exposed the aggregate and used their sealer. They look great! The sealer is awesome. We’ve lived in the home for 3 months now and no stains. It simply does what you need it to. Great products and support."

Jim V. (5/5)

Vanity top

"Very pleased with the concrete and tge color pack. Excellent white color and the patch i saved a little color pack to mix with the patch and all the pinhole were filled in. The top came out awesome smooth. Thank you. Wayne"

Wayne E. (5/5)

Concrete filler

"Worked well. Happy with these products! I used the filler before sealing"

Ben J. (5/5)

Difficult

"this is our second time doing concrete countertops. The first time we did Quickrete, and it was much easier to work with. this product has already cracked. Also, you would think pigment means color, but they mean white pigment. So we did not realize that you need to add something to make it white. It was more complicated, and the project did not turn out as well as our previous."

Very Disappointed!

"I was excited to pour a white concrete countertop for my bathroom remodel and the reviews looked good here on concretecountertopsolutions so I purchased four bags of the white countertop concrete mix, color packs, counterforms, the z-clips and mesh. I was severely disappointed while mixing the concrete as there were large chunks in the mix which made it extremely time consuming to try to pick the chunks out as I was mixing up each batch. It looked like these chunks had already cured into concrete. I know that the mix bags did not get any moisture on my end because I drove to a distributor in Salisbury and picked up the materials and moved them inside my home as soon as I got home and used it less than a week later. So I got the countertop poured. The counterforms removed nicely as described. However, countertop was poured on Friday and today, Monday, there are two ugly cracks in my countertop! This has been a huge waste of my time and over $300 (if I can salvage the sinks, more if not) and I shudder to think of the time it will take to remove the countertop and replace it with something that won't crack. Very dissapointed."

Great product

"Used this on a kitchen island. The island is 5x10 which is big. For something this big, Be prepared for a crack or two or add some more fiber to the mix. I was always told that concrete does two things. It gets hard and it cracks. Not on smaller projects , but this size quite possible. Turned out beautiful"

DEWAYNE M. (5/5)

white countertop mix

"it was expensive to have delivered but the product was worth it. I used a mixer so my water ratio wasnt the same as the video but my customer loves the turn out. i dont think i will use the bullnose forms again because of the bubbles but the concrete was awesome."

Phil P. (5/5)

"Great product, it was my first time pouring concrete countertops and my fist pour was a success. My countertops turned out smooth and with little to no honeycomb. The videos that I watched on the website helped tremendously. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to go this route."

Bryan (5/5)

Decent Product

"The concrete itself looks good when mixed right, but I had difficulty getting the consistency in the videos from the recommended water ratio. The area coverage per bag also seems to underestimate actual coverage, so buy extra."

Q&A

Can I mix it in a cement mixer?
We recommend mixing in a bucket with a paddle mixer due to the small acrylic fibers in this mix. A drum type concrete mixer does not spin fast enough to properly disperse these fibers and can cause clumping.
I am pouring this white countertop mix for an outdoor kitchen using the method described in your videos (on hardibacker, standard forms with the mesh and clips). How long must it be guaranteed not to rain after pouring? I’m in the northeast and want to be sure I pick a day when the possibility of rain won’t ruin it!
Good question and it will all depend on a few factors. How fast the initial cure happens will depend on environmental factors like temperature and wind. It also depends on how heavy the rain is. Typically after 12 hours the concrete would be fine in a light rain. It may be closer to 24 hours until it could survive a very hard rainfall.
Can this withstand use as flooring? I’m having trouble getting my hands on Portland white cement.
In most cases it would be overkill and not very cost effective. But yes it would be plenty strong and very white.
Can I add crushed glass chips for color???
Yes, for sure. You can either add them into the concrete when you mix it or you can seed it into the surface before you float it. If you seed it into the top, you will use far less decorative aggregate but it will not be visible in the edges. With either method, you will need to grind/ polish the concrete to expose the aggregate after the concrete has set.
How can I calculate what I need when my counters are 1 3/4 thick ?
In our forms you will be pouring 1-5/8" but we have already figured out all the sq. ft. coverages based on our different products. If you are using a different mix, call or email us and we can help you out.
Can I use this product as a skim coat/overlay cement countertop
No, this mix is not designed to be used as an overlay and will not work for this purpose. We do sell a micro-topping in white here - https://concretecountertopsolutions.com/collections/cement-products/products/concrete-rescue-microtopping
Can I use your white countertop mix for outdoor application? If so, could it descolórate overtime or change colors? Thank you.
This product is fully safe for outdoor use. It will not discolor. If it is not sealed properly it could stain or sealers not meant for outdoor use can discolor but the concrete itself is 100% fine.
We're pouring 17" x 17' U-shape outdoor side tables 2" thick. With your white concrete countertop mix do we need to use reinforcing mesh:
Reinforcement is typically always a good idea but you may not "need" it in this case. Please email us at info@concretecountertopsolutions.com and we can better assist. I want to make sure we are clear on the dimensions and shape before giving any definitive answer.
In a pinch, can a small amount be used to make a slurry to fill a very small crack?
Yes, but you would want to sift all the sand and larger aggregate out and just mix the powder with a little water to create a slurry.
How can I achieve a natural concrete color with White Countertop Mix . Which additional products I would need for sealing (outdoor) to have a natural gray (satin not shiny)?
To make the white mix look like a natural gray, I would use our Charcoal Terra-Tint, probably two scoop per bag. You can also just go with out Liqui-Crete additive in a store bought bag of Quikrete. For a natural looking finish good for outdoors, I would like at our SiAcryl 14 sealer.
