Z SiAcryl 14 is an ultra high performance water based penetrating sealer formulated for use on concrete countertops. When applied and cured, Z SiAcryl 14 will repel most food and beverage products, such as lemon juice, vinegar, mustard and red wine. After application, Z SiAcryl 14 will exhibit a very natural low luster finish with very little incidental darkening. Best chosen when looking for a more natural look compared to traditional heavy coatings. SiAcryl 14 may not provide the same level of protection as an impermeable topical coating such as our Aqua-Thane or Aqua-Poxy products. If a higher gloss finish is desired, Z Counter-Shine can be applied over Z SiAcryl 14. Safe for outdoor use and 100% countertop safe.

Warning: Do not stick tape to sealed countertop surface. Many tapes (including popular brands of blue painters tape) have acrylic in the glue that will chemically bond to the acrylic in the sealer and can cause delamination. If this happens, these areas can normally be sanded and spot fixed.

Custom countertops

"Applied easily, workable, did the 3 to 4 coats as recommended, did not guard against stains or everyday use very well at all. Will have to epoxy all the countertops now."

Jonathan T. (1/5)

"It didn’t seem to seal like the first time we got it."

Worked great

"Would recommend"

Do Not Use

"This is the second time we've had concrete countertops. The first time my father in law sealed them with epoxy. They were beautiful and never had any issues with staining, scratching, or anything. My father in law could no longer apply epoxy so this time I decided to go this route because it seemed super easy to apply. While it was easy to apply, the product is terrible. I then spent $500 on this companies epoxy thinking we would then apply that only to learn that we'd have to grind this product completely off. We have the rock live edge so that's nearly impossible. The epoxy turned rock hard after 4 months of sitting in our conditioned home so that was a total waste of money and now I have countertops that look like trash because this sealer is constantly peeling off the stain underneath it."

Sealer

"The sealer was very easy to apply. Again I had lots of questions and everyone I spoke with was super knowledgeable. I used tobacco stain. As you can see the water beads up and protects"

Excellent product.

"I think it looks great."

Z SiAcryl 14

"The sealer went on very easy. After talking with the reps about which sealer to use, I decided on Z SiAcryl 14. I’m very happy. It really took a lot on the first pass. I waited a couple hours and went again, soaked in but not as much. By the 4th pass it was apparent that the sealer was already doing its job. Super happy. It has a very natural look and low low shine. I was trying to keep the natural concrete look and It didn’t change the color as far a I can tell. Happy with the whole process."

Alicia H. (5/5)

Too shiny with no protection

"Very disappointed in this product. I purchased because it was advertised as a low Lester natural look. It is very shining and extremely easy to scratch. I would not recommend this product for any surface that may come in contact with moisture as you will have spots. I used this in my kitchen and I already have water spots all around my sink. I have had concrete countertops for eight years resurfacing them every year to year and a half, and I have never been so disappointed in my decision on choosing a product."

Jessica D. (1/5)

Z sealer

"After 45-6 coats I had to use a water based spray sealer to at least be able to use the counter top."

"It was great"

Q&A

Can beeswax or countertop wax be applied over the SiAcryl 14? I would like a waxed look to the counters and would also like the added protection against stains.
The best thing to use is our Counter-Shine polish. It is designed to go over the SiAcryl 14 to act like a wax but it will not inhibit you from resealing when it is time. If you use carnauba wax, you will need to completely remove the wax in order to reseal.
Can this be used to initially seal countertop and then after fully curing can you epoxy over this with your epoxy kit? Purchased the epoxy and want that to be the final finish, but worried about leaving unsealed while waiting for the cure time for the epoxy.
This technically could be done but I would not. The issue here is epoxy will darken the concrete greatly. This will create a barrier so the concrete will not darken. The problem happens when you have a small area that isn't sealed well or pinholes that allow epoxy though. You will wind up with dark spots all over the countertop. The best thing to do is to wait. You can seal with the epoxy within about 10 days of pouring the concrete and in certain conditions, you might even be ok after 7 days.
does this sealer fill in tiny imperfections to create a smooth surface? I have areas that are not smooth to the touch, think grain sized pock marks, would this smooth it out?
This is nearly a fully penetrating sealer so it will not help fill in rough areas or pinholes to create a smooth surface. It will leave you with a very natural look and feel on the concrete similar to when it was unsealed. For a thicker coating that will help fill in imperfections, I would look at our Aqua-Poxy.
I poored your white concrete counter tops and finished with siacril14 than finished with your counter shine 6 years ago. The tops are now needing a refinish. What exactly should I do?
You may want to email us some pictures but in most cases you would just need to sand lightly (maybe some 220 grit on an orbital sander) and then reapply both the SiAcryl 14 and Counter-Shine. If you have any left over, I would not use it after 6 years.
Can this be used with concrete ground/polished with diamond pads? I'm grinding mine down to 400 grit.
Yes, this product can be used on polished concrete. You will want to rub the sealer in with a micro-fiber cloth to make sure you are working it into the surface but it works very well on even highly polished concrete.
How do you re seal the countertop? Do I have e to sand off the old sealer and shine?
That will depend on the sealer that was used and its current state. Please email us some photos to info@concretecountertopsolutions.com and let us know what sealer was used and we would be happy to help.
Hello, does SiAcryl protect against cooking oil splatter from a nearby stovetop? Will the oil stain the counter and require sanding/reapplication? I will be using the white cement mix & bright white additive. thanks
Yes, ideally it would prevent this but the effectiveness of SiAcryl 14 really depends on the porosity on the concrete and how it is applied. In most cases, a coating like Aqua-Thane or Aqua-Poxy may provide better protection to a wider variety of concrete finishes. Please email us at info@concretecountertopsolutions.com and we can explain better.
Can you use this over painted concrete?
No, I would not recommend this sealer over painted concrete at is it a penetrating product. For painted concrete I would look at our Aqua-Poxy or Aqua-Thane products.
How long after pouring concrete should you wait to apply this sealer
Depends on the sealer and environmental conditions. For this breathable product though I would want to wait at least 5-7 days.
Can this be applied over aqua-poxy?
No, it cannot. SiAcryl 14 is a penetrating sealer and needs to be applied to porous concrete. You can use something like our Aqua-Thane sealers though over Aqua-Poxy.
